If you want to eliminate the heavy suit do it at once no need for all this BS you are throwing at us, its enough we are running the most underpowered and most difficult suit to train in the beta.
/rant over and so my days with the heavy suit
Falls in line better with Eve Online skill training - can't fly a Caldari Frigate until you have Spaceship Command, for instance. This just makes more sense and I'm honestly not complaining that I have to get a 15% reduction to my profile to run with the largest frakking profile of any infantry class. |

I understand where you came from but the heavy dropsuits is just another suits it doesn't have any advantage (in fact it has many disadvantages compared to the other suits) or special abilities so why making us wait longer to use while other classes can access there suits form the get go unless they gave it something in return, its just stupid and don't make sense.
You do realize it's only 256,000 SP to get that skill to level 5 right?
Sees-Too-Much wrote:Probably going to involve a change to starting kits, then. Might not be able to start out as heavy if it requires more SP in dropsuit command.
'Course it looks like I'll have to get it to V for my pilot suit. Which makes sense, I guess, given how powerful pilot suits have the potential to be.
Not quite. Specialist suits are in reference to things like the Shock Assault Suit and the Titan Heavy Suit. |

So we get a.disadvantage of having to put the most sp into something we don't really need if we're content with the regular heavy suit
Again - it's 256,000 SP. You put more into Assault Rifle Operation 5.
Darky SI wrote:Aeon Amadi wrote: You do realize it's only 256,000 SP to get that skill to level 5 right?
1. Its not the amount of SP am talking about its the concept for delaying the heavy users i mean why? whats the point? 2. On release the SP gain will be much much less than the current one (4 times less to be exact) so 256K will take time later when the game is released.
I disagree. The 4x skill-point gain was removed at the beginning of this build. 256,000 sp is a night's worth of matches at most and that's if you're running solo and -ONLY- making kills/assists. |

Should be interesting, if they change it like this. Amarr Dropsuit Operation already at X8 i don't have problem with that but delaying the access to certain suit with out any apparent advantage doesn't make sense. All suits should be available for all form the start isn't this common sense in any game that has different classes (dropsuits) to specialize on ? They're still tweaking and adding things, such as the new HMG. Perhaps they're adding more for heavies. Also, putting the forge gun just a little bit back is probably a good thing >_< Yeah unless there is something special about the heavy suit, this whole new system is just weird maybe am missing something
Heavy Weaponry.... Atlas / Titan suits will expand more on this with one sacrificing it's heavy weapon ability for more versatility and the other increasing it's protection at the expense of mobility.. It -is- special... |

They might remove these starter kits to fit the new skill progression, we'll have to see. As to the person that said 256k SP is a nights worth of matches, I'm PRAYING that we are put on a SIGNIFICANTLY more passive SP gain model, or else people are going to max out very quickly, and it's just gonna be stupid. Very, very stupid.
Passive Skill Boosters are being implemented from what I can see - but they're Aurum based just like the Active Skill Boosters. Having both could be interesting, to say the least.
Even then I'm almost positive the SP/ISK values we're going to make are going to be scaled by the area we're in - with hi sec being the least returns. |

Mobius Kaethis wrote:Yes the 4x sp boost was removed after the last build. You should have seen the amount of SP we could earn then. I'm talking about poor players getting 60k sp a match and good ones getting more like 120k sp. By comparison the current build is tediously slow though you can still get great sp if you know a trick or two.
Used to make 200k+
I know a few good secrets on how to make 80k+ in this build that I only reveal to my corp-mates =) |

Hopefully it's not glitches or exploits, otherwise you're not being a very good tester >_< (by not reporting it, that is)
I'll give you a hint - it involves lots of coordination among the squad and one big kitten Forge Gun =P |

There is a new skill called Scan Dampening that does this I believe, but it also unlocks the actual Scan Dampener module. It's possible to use both skills in unison with one another to reduce the likeliness of you -ever- coming up on radar. |

Have fun ranting guys. I like. Merc's a fool not to train the Dropsuit command skill to 3 anyway. actually according to the order of the unlocks and your post, The heavy suit should be at lvl 1 because its not like you will sneak into someone with fat slow suit! the heavy will be first to spot no matter what lvl they are at in fact the scouts need this more than anyone else to be able to get up and close unnoticed. So yeah unlocking the heavy suit at lvl 3 is useless
The Heavy suit is a more powerful variant both defensively and offensively... It's like saying you would want a more powerful frigate available earlier than a lesser one... Honestly - why are you complaining about 100k SP? |

I could careless about the heavy suit am HAV user but the logic behind the new dropsuit command training forcing everyone to start with assault suit so does that mean no more starter fits? Edit: we don't know yet what is the new multiplier
Dude.... Okay... Please pay attention...
1.) Starter Suits are Militia Suits. 2.) Militia Suits are Free. 3.) Militia Suits DO NOT REQUIRE SKILLS to use. 4.) Someone specializing in a Heavy suit -SHOULD- go through the others before having that sort of power so they can know what they're getting into.
And -AGAIN- it's 100,000 SP, what does it freaking matter you put more into even more useless skills like Turret Operation - which up until the next build does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
EDIT: Just saying bro - Megaman didn't just start with all his frakking upgrades in Megaman X. |
